Cars 2 review

Cars 2 came out Friday and of coarse as they say all good things must come to an end, as this is Pixar's first rotten movie with a 33% rotten (OK) on the Tomatoemeter.
Anyway this is kinda all about Mater then Lightning McQueen. Kinda like how Toy Story was about Buzz and Toy Story 2 was about Woody.
They say its pretty violent so don't think about taking the kids.

"Brave" teaser

I thought that the trailer wasn't gonna come out online but i'm not complaining. This looks awesome. Check it out.

Cars 2 to violent?

ScrenedSite wonders if Cars 2 was too violent for a G-rating.

"Toy Story" director gets a star

John Lasseter director of Toy Story 1 and 2, A Bugs Life, and Cars 1 and 2 will be getting his own star in Hollywood Walk of Fame.
John should be proud of him self. Its an honor to get a star for any body in the film business. Hope that he's the next Walt Disney (also has a star, so does Charles M. Schultz, creator of Peanuts).
 Congratulations John!!!

"Cars 2" worth watching in 3-D

Should you see Cars 2 in 2D or 3D? The verdict is that this is Pixar’s best attempt at releasing a 3D movie. But 3-D cost allot of money. I think I'll just stick with non glasses.

"Cars 2" the next "Rango"?

CinemaBlend advises parents to think twice before taking their kids to see Cars 2 as the film has some horrible messages for children.

"Cars 2" box office scandal

Box Office experts have no idea how much money Pixar’s Cars 2 will make opening weekend.

"Brave" poster

Pixar released a poster to there 13 film Brave. It actually looks good. Check out the trailer as it comes out with Cars 2, because its rumored that it will not go inline. Also the director said-

What we want to get across [with the teaser] is that this story has some darker elements… Not to frighten off our Pixar fans — we’ll still have all the comedy and the great characters. But we get a little bit more intense here. Check out the beautiful poster in the link below.

Pixar dealing with more action, forgetting about the emotion

Pixar is forgetting about the steps to make a great film. Sure movies are great when theirs a gasping action scenes, but we still want heartwarming scenes that will make us smile from start to finish. If your looking for an emotional movie like Up or Finding Nemo then Cars 2 is not that film.

Pixar's first rotten movie

Noooooooo!!!!!!! Pixar for the first time in 12 years Pixar has its first rotten movie in the Tamatoemeter. Cars 2 got a 57% rotten, lets just hope that critics give it three more good suggestions so that it at least gets a 60% fresh by Friday.

Director of "Cars 2" did it on iPad

John Lasseter director of Toy Story 1 and 2 also directed Cars 2. But he directed it on an iPad. I understand why he did that. He's Chief Creative Officer for all of Disney, and deciding which Hawaiian shirt to wear each morning. I can see why he had to direct on the go.
In a Los Angeles Times profile, they talk about one way in particular:
He is based at Pixar but flies to Disney’s Burbank lot several times a month. Thanks to an iPad app designed by a Pixar staffer, he does much of his work while in transit, on one of a half-dozen iPads he totes along in his bag, one each for various departments at the two companies. “Cars 2″ producer Denise Ream has saved all of Lasseter’s messages from the production and played some of them to illustrate the director’s communication style.
  I want that app.

"Puss in Boots" trailer and poster

Dreamworks released a a new trailer and poster of the Shrek spin-off Puss in Boots. This looks like Dreamworks next big thing next to How to Train Your Dragon. It looks awesome, and it looks like its gonna take place in Mexico (even better).
The poster looks great. Not as good as the first one but its cool.
  Now hears the plot-
Way before Puss ever met Shrek, our suave and furry feline hero goes on a swashbuckling ride, as he teams with mastermind Humpty Dumpty and the street-savvy Kitty to steal the famed Goose that lays the Golden Eggs.
Check them out in the link below.

2 new Pixar movies coming out in 2013?

Usually Pixar releases one film every year. But, Pete Doctor, director of Up announced that he will be making a new film due to release in 2013, but what about Monsters University?
Micheal Arndt, writer of Toy Story 3 said-
I’m on a couple of different things that are pretty early on; one’s being storyboarded and put up on reels, which is where the rubber meets the road. That’s the hard part of it. The early days, usually you can think of all these great ideas, and they sound interesting and intriguing, and then you get in there and you have to storyboard it to make each beat work. Make you care about the character, yet have him flawed so he can have growth throughout the film. Those are hard things to do! And just when you think you understand now how you’re going to do it, the next film comes up and hits you from the side and you didn’t see it coming. It’s not easy!
I can't wait to see this. Brave is due next year in June with the short La Luna.

"Spongebob 'Fungus'Pants"

Scientist found a fungus 'sponge' item in the forest and named it Spongebob.

"Kung Fu Panda 2" my review

I just saw Kung Fu Panda 2 and I have to say it was amazing. Better then the first I think. The animation was amazing. The story was epic. Heart warming sequences with action packed scenes that took my breath away. And of coarse, laugh out loud humor.
The characters are great with great voice talent from Jack Black (Po), Angelina Joli (Tigress), Seth Rogan (Mantis), and Jackie Chan (Monkey). As Po finds out old family secrets and in counters a new villain. Speaking of the villain. The villain is a Peacock. I was confused, his feathers were swords, I couldn't tell witch was witch. But what I do have to say he's badder then Lots o' from Toy Story 3.
Check it out. Oh and see it in 3-D, don't let the # 4 at box office fool you.

"Smurfs" seqeul

I don't get it The Smurfs hasn't even came out yet and there already doing a sequel. There is no plot for it yet, but you can see the first one coming out in July.

New posters for Dreamworks, Aardman, and Illumination

Dreamworks has released three new posters. One called The Croods another called Rise of the Guardians and the other is gonna be a sequel to one of my favorite films Madagascar, Madagascar 3.
Aardman released a poster for The Pirates! Band of Misfits, which I posted a few weeks ago.
Illumination released a poster for Dr. Suess' famous The Lorax.
I'm not really impressed with these posters. The Croods and Rise of the Guardians look plain to me, and is the next Madagascar suppose to be in a circus now? The Pirates looks OK. But I don't remember The Lorax with that big of a mustache. Check them out in the link below.

Cars 2: Carmac - Clip

New "Cars 2" clip

Cars has released a new clip. This one actually made me want to go see this movie. Hope it does the same to you.

Sony's "Smurf" record

Sony will try to attempt a Guinness Book of World Records to have an ought people dress up as a Smurf.

Nick's "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" show and movie

Nickelodeon announced that they will be making a t.v show and movie (with Paramount Pictures) of the famous Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Its probably gonna be like those shows that were movies but are now shows (Jimmy Neutron, Barnyard, and The Penguins of Madagascar).
Sean Astin, writer of the show said-
These people who are doing [the new show], man, they are so fired up. They know they have something that people love, and that they’re getting a different crack at it. The producers recognize how much the fans of Ninja Turtles expect from the new show. With the new show, you’ll have one of two reactions: People will be fired up and excited, or people will be really skeptical. And the people who are fired up, you don’t want to disappoint them. And the people who are skeptical, you want to turn them.
He also says the characters will have less of an exaggerated SoCal surfer accent:
I don’t think it’s [adopts a perfect 'Bill and Ted' impression] “Dude, how you doin’, dude!” It’s just not quite as intense. A little bit more refined. They’ve got a slightly better education, maybe. More refined chemicals.
I wasn't really a fan of TMNT. Besides Nick already has Supah Ninjas.

"Cars" spin off "Planes"

DisneyToon studios has released a spin off to Pixar's Cars. The film will be called Planes. This doesn't really look good. As the title only has Disney's logo instead of Disney: Pixar. I'm glad that Pixar doesn't have to do with this.
“We had such a great time exploring the world of ‘Cars’ over the course of two films, so it seemed only natural for us to see where our imaginations would take us in a film where planes were the main characters. By expanding the Cars world, ‘Planes’ gave us a whole new set of fun-filled situations and a great opportunity to introduce some fantastic new characters,” commented John Lasseter, Chief Creative Officer, Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios.
  Check out the trailer below.

New "Loony Tunes" short

The famous Loony Tunes shorts are back. I've seen a couple of them in front of Yogi Bear, and The Guardians of Ga' hool. There actually pretty funny. This time its gonna be Daffy Duck's lead role. It appear in front of Happy Feet Two. The name is gonna be Daffy’s Rhapsody.

"La Luna" clip

Pixar has recently released a 30 second clip of there new short La Luna that might appear in front of there new project Brave.
I have to say this looks amazing. Great animation, great colors, great characters, even though the father in this looks the same as the dad in Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. And the moonrise from the water looks beautiful. The director will be Enrico Casarosa. His first time directing. Check out the clip below.

MGM Animation returning

MGM Animation was last seen in 1996 with All Dogs Go to Heaven. I wasn't really a big fan of MGM since I never seen any of there movies. But I guess there were popular. Now MGM will make there next feature film, Punk Farm.
Variety says that The Simpsons Movie director David Silverman will rewrite Jim Hecht‘s script and then direct the project. The story, based on Jarrett Krosoczka‘s book, is about “five barnyard animals (Sheep, Pig, Chicken, Goat and Cow) who form an underground rock band.” The book got no small amount of acclaim, and a sequel (Punk Farm on Tour, in 2007). DreamWorks was once developing a film, but the rights passed to MGM at some point.
I don't know about this film it doesn't sound good to me.

Mo-cap not even animation?

Space Jam producer Steven Paul Leiva claims that Mo-cap isn't even animation. I would like to say that he is wrong. Mo-cap is definitely animation. Like the first time I saw Avatar, I couldn't tell if it was live action or animated.
He declared this to Stephen Spielberg's next film The Adventures of Tintin. Also to my favorites The Polar Express, and Disney's A Christmas Carol. With this years Mars Needs Moms and also with the Oscar winner for best animated film, Happy Feet

"King Kong" to be animated

Fox has announced that there animation studio will be making a twist  to the hit movie King Kong. They say that its gonna be from King Kong's point of view. I guess this time Kong's gonna talk or something. Which wouldn't be surprising since all animated films have talking animals ( Rio, Kung Fu Panda 2, and Rango).
I guess it'll come out after Family Guy or something.

"How to Train Your Dragon 2" plot

Dreamworks announced that last years hit (and Dreamwork's first film that got 98% fresh on the tomatoemeter) How to Train Your Dragon. I never seen it but I hear its really good.
Anyway Dean DeBlois, writer of the film is in the talks for a Dragon sequel.
More interesting, is that the director said,
There are certain characters and situations that come into play in the second film that will becomes much more crucial to the story by the third. Other threads from the first will begin to pay themselves off in the second. It’s my way of guaranteeing that it is not another adventure that we throw the same five or six characters into, that it feels like part of a larger story.
I’m going to be starting work on it this year, yeah. Yes I [know things about it]. I know everything about it. I read it last week! It’s phenomenal. And it’s not a sequel; it’s a chapter two. Because there are eight books, so it’s not just finding crazy situations to put our characters in. It’s very much a second act of a three act thing.
Finally he gave us the plot- The sequel to How to Train Your Dragon continues the adventures of the son of Stoick the Vast and future leader of the Hairy Hooligan Viking tribe. Although the skinny, freckled Hiccup has more brains than the rest of the Hairy Hooligans put together, he has a hard time garnering respect from anyone, least of all his arch-rival, Snotlout. It doesn’t help that Hiccup’s dragon, Toothless, is predisposed to hypochondria and cowardice. During a pirate-training session, them meet up with charming “Alvin the Poor-But-Honest-Farmer,” who is keen to help them discover the legendary treasure of Grimbeard the Ghastly. After a series of hair-raising, humorous escapades on the high seas, a deadly island, and an undersea cavern, Hiccup learns some surprising things about his previously undervalued abilities.
Not only are they gonna make a sequel but a trilogy. The films gonna come out June 20 2014.

New "Cars" character

Cars 2 is coming out June 24, and with a new Cars there's gotta be some new characters. This character is Finn, a french car that I guess is a spy. The clip below shows the personality of Finn, it also shows how rusty Mater's oil can be.
