"Transformers" star on "Jake and the Neverland Pirates"

Transformers co-star Josh Duhamel has joined the cast of Disney Jr.’s cartoon series Jake and the Never Land Pirates. I never actually seen the show.
Were's Peter Pan? These aren't even real Peter Pan characters. But the animation is great.

"Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs Evil" DVD review: "Skip it"

Hoodwinked 2 came out today on DVD with a bad score of 11% rotten. The animation of this film looks bad with no shading. The first one had better animation.
Unlike the story the cast is great with Hayden Panettiere, Patrick Warburtin (Family Guy), and Bill Hader (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs). The DVD witch includes 3-D glasses for the film. But thats not making me buy it. Coraline also had the glasses.
Anyway don't bother. Just skip it.

New animated studio with first animated film

There is going to be a new animated studio that will be called Digital Domain. Kind of like how last year the new animated studio was Illumination Entertainment that made Despicable Me. Digital Domain has its first movie on its way about a young elephant. Hears what former Disney director, Pam Coats had to say-
“When he gets to India that’s where sort of the journey takes place, and this is a guy who becomes someone else. So, he has to transform himself into a fierce, battle elephant, which is based in truth. They did use elephants in battle in India. He has to become something he is not in order to return home.”
The movie will be called The Legend of Tembo. This movie looks cute.

Billy Cristal on "Monsters University"

Monsters University is the new Pixar film that is a prequel to the classic Monsters inc. Supposedly, Mike and Sully hated each other so this is how they first met. I really wish that could show Boo again. I want to see her as an adult like Andy in Toy Story 3.
Billy Cristal that did Mike's voice will return for next. Hears what he had to say- “We’re having a blast together… It’s a really great script, it’s really funny. Mike has a retainer. Monsters University ends where [Monsters, Inc.] starts.”
I can't wait, but what about Sully, is he like a jock or something?

Disney art

Schim Shimmel created “Hear No, See No, Speak No Mischief”, which will debut from Acme achieves at D23. This looks amazing for Micky Mouse.

Happy birthday Nicktoons!

I just posted about The Ren and Stimpy Show being 20 years old. Now is the 20th birthday of Nicktoons. Sundays will never be the same since now Nick just has dumb shows like iCarly and Victorious. I miss Hey Arnold! and Rugrats and Doug. Hears what Craig Yoe had to say-
“20 years ago Nickelodeon’s VP of Creative, Scott Webb had seen an MTV ID that J.J. Sedelmaier of J.J. Sedelmaier Productions (still knocking out great animation) and I had done and drafted us to do an opening and closing for their new cartoon block, Nicktoons. Webb’s assignment was to “do an intro so cool that it will become as famous as the beloved Looney Tunes one”. Oh, sure, no problem there! We came up with the bit below joined by animators Doug Compton, JP Jacquet, and John Dilworth and with the music/sound design of the long missed Tom Pomposello. It debuted with Nicktoons, won some awards, but was quickly s***-canned by some suit who had other ideas and some political pull and, well… that’s all folks!
    Anyway happy birthday Nicktoons.

"Beauty and the Beast" in 3-D

Disney will release the timeless classic Beauty and the Beast in 3-D theatrically from September 2-15 but only in the El Capitan theater in Hollywood. Also will The Lion King in 3-D. Why does every thing have to be in Hollywood.

"Terminator 2" drawing

FHM magazine commissioned AlbinoRaven to create this Terminator 2 illustration. This actually looks good.

John Lasseter on story and animation

Cars 2 director John Lasseter discuss about story and animation. Lasseter said many things like- “No amount of great animation will save a bad story.” He then said something that was over rated. I didn't think that the guy that did the story for Toy Story 3 said this-
“People say ‘It’s all about the story.’ When you’re making tentpole films, bulls***.”
He then started to using Disney's last project Alice in Wonderland as an example saying- “The story isn’t very good, but visual spectacle brought people in droves. And Johnny Depp didn’t hurt.”
So, I don't know what the culprit is hear.

Happy birthday "Ren and Stimpy"!

Yesterday was the birthday of the 20 year old cartoon Ren and Stimpy. August 11, 1991 was when Nick aired the show created by John Kricfalusi and produced Spumco. I didn't really like that show, as I didn't like there rude humor and it was inappropriate. The show that I wish that Nick will bring back is Hey Arnold!

"Puss in Boots" new pants

Puss in Boots is coming out this November and now you can get his new "No Pants" pants (please don't). I can't wait for this movie, it looks awesome and some what inappropriate.

"Mars needs Moms" DVD review: "Rent it"

From the people that brought you The Polar Express and A Christmas Carol bring you a new adventure that will bring a new world to your eyes. Mars needs Moms came out to DVD and so far no one is buying. Unlike Rio that got a world record beating Soul Surfer to DVD. Mars needs Moms got an OK score of an 34% rotten. So you can ether just skip it if you want.
Once again Image Movers takes mo-cap in a new adventure that teaches us how important it is to listen to your parents, and if you don't then aliens will take them. But now Nickelodeon Movies is on top to do mo-cap.
So just rent it. It won't be the best movie you'll see.

"Harry Potter" painting

Ben Chen created this awesome painting of the popular franchise Harry Potter.“The Magic of Man” is what Chen calls the illustration as a Threadless submission. I actually think this is good. As you can't see Potter's face showing how cool it is.

Movie dads

Nathan Stapley created this cool looking painting of great movie dads for an upcoming Gallery1988 art show. As you can see The Simpsons, The Little Mermaid, The Incredibles, and Finding Nemo.

"The Penguins of Madagascar" movie in the works

Dreamworks now making there spin-off to Shrek by making Puss in Boots that will come out November. Now the studio will make a spin-off to Madagascar by making the hilarious Penguins of Madagascar. There is no plot yet but it will be directed by Bee Movie co-director Simon Smith. Also with the script by Alan J. Schoolcraft and Brent Simons who wrote my favorite Dreamworks movie Megamind.
These four penguins are as popular then Alex the Lion himself. As they have there own show on Nick and there own little short. Man, these flightless birds have everything.

"Futurama" tattoo

Another person was though enough to get a tattoo based on lovable characters. This time someone got the Futurama gang as a tattoo.

"Back to the Future/Calvin and Hobbes" mash-up

You can now Buy this awesome looking design of the famous movie Back to the Future and the funny comic Calvin and Hobbes t-shirt. The shirts called Great Scott.

"Hong Kong Phooey" movie in the works

I love the kung fu fighting dog from the creative mind of Hanna Barbera called Hong Kong Phooey. Now there will be a movie based on the mutt with a live-action/animated film. And the best part of all this is that Eddie Murphy will do the lead voice on Phooey himself.
    Hears the official synopses-

Based on the 70’s cult classic Hanna Barbera animated TV series, a mild-mannered dog named PENRY (Murphy) stumbles into a mystic ceremony and is accidentally granted mystic powers, including the ability to walk, talk, and do kung fu. Under the tutelage of his kung fu master, Penry dons a costume and becomes Hong Kong Phooey, and with the help of his trusting sidekick Spot the cat cleans up a rogues gallery of wacky criminals.
Alcon Entertainment is behind the project, and Alex Zamm (Dr. Dolittle: Million Dollar Mutts, Tooth Fairy 2 – yike) will direct.
I just hope its not like this years (still at #2) The Smurfs or last years Yogi Bear.

Peas in a Pod toy

You can now buy the cute Peas in a Pod toys from Toy Story 3. It looks really good.

Secretly working with Disney

Henry Selick has worked at Pixar for many years. Then he went off to work at LIKA and worked on Coraline. Today he strictly said that he is NOT working at Pixar, but he says that he is-
   "working within the Disney family.”

"How to Train your Dragon" in real life

You don't have to wait until 2014 to see Hiccup and Toothless, now you can see them in real life. This looks amazing the animation looks so real, but the actors don't look like Hiccup or Astrid.
Anyway it looks awesome. And hears what DreamWorks Animation chief creative officer Bill Damaschk had to say-
“The complex animatronics, the cast of eighty including Viking warriors and villagers as well as world-class circus and acrobatic performers, all are quite ambitious,”
Also said  Jeffrey Katzenberg, the CEO of the company-
In our film, audiences around the world were transported to the mythical world of Vikings and dragons… and now, we are excited to immerse them in a one-of-a-kind live event in the How To Train Your Dragon Arena Spectacular. The innovative team at Global Creatures and the creative storytellers at DreamWorks Animation have done an inspired job in every imaginable way to present this story on an unprecedented scale that will take audiences to unforgettable new heights.
It just looks amazing and it cost them $20 million thats more then the Spider-man musical.
I would love to see this check out the video below.

How to Train your Dragon

"The Smurfs" sequel to be released in 2013

The Smurfs witch got a bad score on Rotten Tomatoes and is some what very popular to the audience is now gonna have a sequel to be released in 2013 on August 2. Sony had the idea for a Smurfs sequel even before the first one that is still theaters even came out. Witch is like very weird.
Don't get me wrong I love The Smurfs (the cartoon) but the movie just didn't look good. But what do I know I haven't seen it.
The same cast will join the new film. So more Sofia Vergara and George Lopez. Lets just hope that it gets at least 60% fresh because I can't stand to see an animated film get a low percent.

"Donald Duck"'s star

On this day in 2004 Donald Duck got his star in the famous Walk of Fame. I love Donald but not as much as I like the hilarious Daffy Duck.

D23 Expo

Pixar will have a variety of stuff at the famous D23 Expo. Pixar will show sneek peeks at there new films Brave that will come out next year and Monsters inc.'s prequel Monsters University that will come out 2013. Also will there be an exclusive chat with Cars 2 director John Lasseter and with other Pixar members that brought animation to our eyes.
Also will there be a sneek peek of Tim Burton's new animated film Frankenweenie and Oz: The Great and Powerful. Also will there be a screening of The Lion King in 3-D.
    I wish I could go.

"Popeye" cook book

Stephan DeStefano will release a cook book of the famous Popeye. This looks good but all the recipes are all spinach wise. The illustration looks amazing also, but I don't like spinach.

New "Tintin" poster

The UK released a new The Adventurers of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn poster that looks pretty good. I can tell this is gonna be good.

"Peanuts/Jaws" mash- up

Charles Forsman made this cute Peanuts and Jaws comic featuring Charlie Brown, Lucy, and Linus in the characters from Jaws. Hear it is.

New Pixar movie set to released in 2014

Pixar now dealing with Brave and Monsters University and Pete Docter's mystery film and with a Toy Story 4 being rumored to come out, they are now making another mystery film.
I just hope that its an original movie and not a sequel (or prequel). Trust me I love Pixar so will see this (maby). Also Disney is releasing two Marvel films also in 2014.
Like I said it better not be a sequel.

"Rio" record

Rio hit shelves last Tuesday and it was great hit, great enough to hit a world record? Blu Sky Studios hit over a billion dollars just with the DVD coming out. Also more people bought the film then renting it. The film is now with billion group joining Toy Story 3Tangled, Beverly Hills Chiwhawa 2, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 1.
Man that is amazing. I'm not surprised that movie is awesome.

Seth MacFarlane to do "Cosmos"

Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane is not only gonna do his reboot of The Flintstones but he is also doing a series with Carl Sagan’s widow and astrophysicists Steven Soter and Neil deGrasse Tyson to create a sequel to the milestone science series Cosmos. The synopses below-
The story of how human beings began to comprehend the laws of nature and find our place in space and time, by exploring never-before-told stories of the heroic quest for knowledge, the series will take viewers to other worlds and travel across the universe for a vision of the cosmos on the grandest scale. The most profound scientific concepts will be presented with stunning clarity, uniting skepticism and wonder, and weaving rigorous science with the emotional and spiritual into a transcendent experience.
The 13th part series will air on Fox in 2013. Man, is there anything MacFarlane can't do?

"Duck Tales" to be the worst comic ever?

We all love the adventures of Donald Duck's nephews and uncle. Will with there own comic by Ka- boon that is called Duck Tales is called-
  The worst comic ever.
People say that the back ground is like if its been drawn by an 8 year old. Hears a review of Chris Barat-
Some of the complaints will make sense only to those familiar with the Disney comic universe, but the incompetent drawing and staging will be evident to all. Panels are flipped and repeated, characters speak to other characters that aren’t even drawn into the comic, backgrounds appear to be drawn by a twelve-year-old in MS Paint, and even the cover is an uninspired swipe of an earlier Daan Jippes cover.
   That must be really bad.

"The Iron Giant" tattoo

Another person was tough enough to get a tattoo based on a beloved character. This time somebody got The Iron Giant as a tattoo. Like I said I hope they know that they never come off. At lease this one has an inspiring message saying-
You are who you choose to be...

"Brave Little Toaster" tattoo

Somebody was tough enough to get the beloved little toaster The Brave Little Toaster to get turned into a tattoo. I hope she knows that tattoos don't come off.

"Muppets/Star Wars" mash- up

This beautiful painting created by artist Peter de Sève shows the beloved Kermit the Frog from The Muppets and Yoda from Star Wars in this picture called-
Easy Being Green, It Is Not

ABC have announcedPrep & Landing,’ ‘Once Upon a Time’ Screenings, Q&A Panels at the D23 Expo.

Harrison Ford hates "The Smurfs"

Last night Conan O' Brian had Harrison Ford on his show Conan an TBS. Will, Ford's new film Cowboys and Aliens was tied with Sony's The Smurfs at box office. So Conan gave Ford a stuffed Papa Smurf. And will the rest you have to see for your self.

Harrison Ford On The Conan Show Hating On The Smurfs

"Rio" DVD review: "Rent it"

The best movie I've seen this year is Rio and it is finally hear on DVD. This movie was so good I went to go see it two times in theaters. I just loved it.
The DVD came out today and its a hit. You can get the Rio Party Edition that comes with the movie and hours of special features. But those cost a lot.
Anyway rent it. The movies great but after few times watching it you'll kinda get bored.

Dreamworks' "Turbo"

Dreamworks' will release a new film about a snail with a passion to race called Turbo, which will be released in July 19 2013. The official synopses below-
The story follows an ordinary garden snail who dreams of becoming the fastest snail in the world. When a freak accident gives him extraordinary speed, Turbo sets out to try to make his dream come true.
Ryan Reynolds will be the lead voice for this film. The film will be directed by David Soren and written by David Lemke. This seems typical. They make the snail sound like Superman or something.

Disney "Harry Potter"

If Disney made Harry Potter it would look like this. It actually looks good to me.

Cartoon colors

The website Slate made this creative color wheel on all of the different colored classic cartoons.

"Toy Story/Harry Potter" mash- up

Pixar animator Austin Madison created this awesome sketch of the most beloved character Woody saying his memorable saying but with a little twist, and with Harry Potter's Professor Snape. Madison made this to celebrate Harry Potter's $1 billion club. Hope you like this too.

"The Smurfs" open up at #2

Sony Animation's The Smurfs didn't get a score since now it has 20% rotten. The movie came out at #2 at box office being the #1 family movie. I can't believe this got #2 with a 20%. Winnie the Pooh got 90% fresh and it came out at #6. Its not even in box office anymore. Cars 2 is at #10 with a 38% rotten.
So The Smurfs is at #2 leaving Cowboys and Aliens at #1.

Coloring with Blu "Rio" app

Blu Skys Studio released an app for my favorite Rio. On the app you can color with Rio's Blu. The app looks great but I wouldn't spend a dollar on it. Check out the video below.

RIO The Movie 'Coloring with Blu' App
